Comic Con
39 years and counting! The one and only San Diego Comic-Con, here July 24th through July 27th, is the premier comics and popular arts convention. Held at the San Diego Convention Center, with over 125,000 people in 2007, Comic Con continues to grow every year. July Dollar Days - San Diego Padres
San Diego Padres are offering July Dollar Days! Prices include hot dogs and soft drinks at $1 and $1 off the price of all beer sold at the ballpark. The Padres are home July 7, 8 and 9 vs. Florida Marlins; July 11, 12 and 13 vs. Atlanta Braves; and July 28, 29 and 30 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks.

Festival of Sail
The Festival of Sail, hosted by the Maritime Museum of San Diego, will kick off with a grand parade of ships on the San Diego Bay, Wednesday, August 20th and will then run through August 24th.  The ships will be lined up along Harbor Drive on the embarcadero in Downtown San Diego, with thanks to the Unified Port of San Diego.  A special appearance by the United States Coast Guard's tall ship Eagle  will make this her first visit to San Diego since 1999.  With ships from all over the world, visitors will get the chance to tour the ships, watch several tall ships in cannon battles and enjoy free entertainment. Visitors can also enjoy delicious food and drink and shop for special gifts with hundreds of festival vendors. Tickets go on sale June 1st, $20 for adults, $15 for Seniors, Military w/ ID and Children 6-17, and kids 5 years and under are Free.

Twilight in the Park Summer Concert Series
This summer Balboa Park will be filled with music during the Twilight in the Park Summer Concert Series.  Twilight will feature 33 FREE concerts beginning June 17th and running through August 28th.  This 28 year old tradition features programs ranging from jazz and rock ‘n’ roll to Latin salsa and country.  Concerts will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 pm on the stage at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion.

Summer Pops Concert Series
The 2008 Summer Pops season of live music begins this June. Set in the scenic Embarcadero Marina Park South, every concert will feature the San Diego Symphony and a special guest performer.  Performances include Frank Sinatra Jr., Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Marvin Hamlisch, Davy Jones and Burt Bacharach. 2008 ArtWalk on the Bay
The team that produces the annual ArtWalk in San Diego’s Little Italy each April is pleased to present ArtWalk on the Bay.  This event will take place along the beautiful waterfront of San Diego Bay in North Embarcadero, providing the ultimate setting for such an event.  Featuring outstanding artwork from artists throughout Southern California, the western United States and Mexico, take the chance to meet the artists and purchase original art. Street Scene
Street Scene is back downtown with forty bands, on four stages for two nights.  Now in its twenty fourth year, Street Scene will return, on September 19th and 20th, to its urban roots when it is once again held in the streets of Downtown San Diego. The venue site will include Tailgate Park (adjacent to Petco Park) in the heart of East Village incorporating 14th Street as the main thoroughfare and bordered by Imperial Avenue to J Street.  Featuring headliners Beck and The Black Crows, many of the 35 other bands made their start in San Diego and will be making their first appearance at Street Scene, adding a new twist and excitement to the event.  A limited amount of two-day passes are on sale now on the webiste, for $75.00.

San Diego Film Festival

Monster Bash 2008
With ghosts, goblins and pretty damsels all dressed to impress, you don’t want to miss out this moon ‘howling event. Fall Back Festival 2008
Put on by the Historical Foundation, downtown San Diego falls back in time to the days of buggies, horse-driven carriages and 2 cent candy. In honoring turning back the clocks during daylight savings time, the Fall Back Festival is fun for the whole family with the Historic Children's Street Faire, eating contest, horse rides and pumpkin decorating. Run for the Hungry 5K & 10K: November 27, 2008

In benefiting the Jewish Family Service Foodmobile, the seventh annual Hungry Thanksgiving Day Run is fun for the whole family in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The race begins bright and early at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day followed by turkey-day delights, a party on the waterfront and the canned food drive. You can also bring your faithful pooch along for the run where they'll enjoy water breaks, a new bandana and a post-run treat. Entrance fees are $25 for adults, $15 for youths with 12 and under for free and $10 for your leashed pup. Ticket prices increase on race day and event will take place at PETCO Park East. Port of San Diego – Urban Trees Public Art Collection
Three of the world's most highly recognized contemporary artists’ works are on display now at Urban Trees 4 until June 22, when they will be removed to make room for the 5th installation of the collection set to open August 5, 2008. The grove of 30 sculptural “trees” transforms North Embarcadero along scenic San Diego Bay. Sculpted with inspiration and imagination from a diverse and striking range of traditional and modern media, this year-long exhibit is an engaging and vibrant attraction along San Diego’s waterfront for city residents and visitors alike.

Gaslamp Mardi Gras
Presented by Southern Comfort, masquerade around the best street festival in Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. In keeping tradition, Mardi Gras is always celebrated on FAT TUESDAY and features two fabulous parades, live music from 10 stages and entertainment lounges, and all the excitement those 21 and up could ask for.
